Jobs in medical field without degree? Pay?

I’m thinking about working in the medical field but I do not have a degree. Any recommendations where to start? I would love to be hands on. Like an ekg tech or something. Do these pay well? I have a desire to help people. I’m knowledgeable in insurance and most medications but I’ve heard pharmacy techs don’t make enough to make a living. Thank you

I’m a medical coder/biller and did a certificate program through CareerStep. It was a good program, I think. That being said, you can occasionally find entry level positions as payment posters, billers, or receptionists that don’t require a degree, certification, or much of any experience. It just depends on where you live and what’s available.

There’s some jobs in the medical field where you can just get a certification. Look on your community colleges website. I did medical coding and billing through AAPC. Penn Foster also has some program.

You can become a pharmacy technician just by passing the PTCB. I did a self study for a few months and took the test and got licensed and have been working as a pharmacy tech for 6 years now.
