Cereal in 2-3 month olds bottle?

Is anyone putting cereal in their baby’s bottle yet? If so, how much..? And do you feel like it helps baby sleep.
I know it’s not really recommended but I know people still do it anyway so I’m curious

No. It has unnecessary calories and it’s a choking hazard. Wait till the pediatrician gives an okay for solids/purées and just stick with formula or breast milk only in bottles.

Our pedi has us putting cereal in our LO’s bottles because it’s the only way for him to keep his formula down. We’ve gone over it extensively and she calls me weekly for check ups on him. We don’t do it to put him to sleep tho. Just to put an end to the projectile vomiting. I’ve been told numerous times to find a new pedi but I honestly adore her and the cereal works. LO is not overweight, he’s keeping his formula down, and I’m not cleaning throw up 24/7.

No and I will not. That is an old suggestion. My grandma always tells me to do it, but times have gone on and research have shown it is more of a choking hazard than a sleep aid. But you can do whatever tou want to, just talk to a doc first, just in case.

My baby has gerd and the pediatrician only has me add 1 tablespoon to bottles (breastmilk) on days that I work. I am a nurse and work 2 days a week. It helps him manage since he sucks bottles so much faster than when on the breast.

Babies wake surely u knew this before having a baby. 
My muddle child at age 4 is a bad sleeper u may never get proper sleep again. Dont put anything in your babys bottle it wont make them sleep linger u just risk choking aspiration etc

I’ve always been against it and didn’t do it with my other 2 kids as I’ve always been told it’s a choking hazard. August baby sleeps great so the argument of helping her sleep better doesn’t apply to us.
BUT
At her 3 month appointment I told the doctor about what a hard time she’s having keeping her formula down and that she’s really struggling. We tried several different formulas and have finally found one that didn’t give her tummy issues so I didn’t wanna change again. There’s reflux formulas but doc said the only difference is the thickness and that he wouldn’t recommend changing formula again. He recommended thickening her formula with cereal instead. He says he doesn’t normally prescribe reflux meds as there have been studies of them causing heart problems.
She is doing SO MUCH better with the cereal. No more fussiness, little to no throwing up anymore and she actually enjoys her milk again now.
I say discuss it with your doctor. It’s not for everyone. My mom put cereal in my bottle at 2 months and it ruined my gut. I was too skinny and she thought I’d gain weight faster like that

It’s actually not safe to put anything other than breast milk or formula in a bottle. Putting rice or cereal in the bottle is a choking hazard. 
If the pediatrician recommends it it should be mixed with breast milk or formula and spoon fed
