How do I know if I’m pregnant or not

I’m about 23 days late from my period I’ve tested a few times but my coworker who was a nurse for many years said wait till you haven’t had your period for 4 weeks then test the last 2 days I have became extremely nauseous! My boobs have began to hurt and all day today I’ve been peeing like crazy!!!! What does this mean is it just like normal or is there a chance in pregnant me and my husband have been trying so I’m hopeful I am but trying not to get to excited!
