Stretch and Membrane sweep 38 weeks?

I had my midwife app on Thursday & she asked did I have a cervix check yet? She then asked me to pop up on the table had a feel of my tummy and asked me to take my undies off little did I know she then stuck her fingers way up inside me was so uncomfortable & I could feel something dripping out of me which was blood. It was all a bit of a shock & happened so quickly she then kept apologizing & transferred me upstairs to the delivery suite to be monitored as I kept bleeding. Even the midwifes upstairs couldn't understand why she did that at 38 weeks as I have no issues and didn't require a sweep I thought it was just a quick cervix check. I was kept in for a few hrs to monitor the bleeding and make sure baby was OK. The Dr then had to use a speculum to have a look at my cervix to see what was causing it.. It was so painful my legs were shaking after it.. I have to go back next to the same midwife for another appointment I am so angry at the whole situation and hope it doesn't put me into early labour now.. I really thought she was just going to do a quick cervix check and didn't question it as she is the midwife and trusted her completely . She even put on my yellow card I consented to a stretch and sweep which I did not.. Im so annoyed by it all!
