Husbands name?

I am not currently pregnant but my husband and I have had the baby name talk and if we have a son he wants to name him after himself, I like my husbqnds name (Alex) buy I feel that it is such a common name and some of the names we have picked out for girls are a bit more uncommon. He is pretty set on namjng a boy after him and K would be fine with it but I think it gets confusing and might be a bit cheesey. What does everyone think? And how would you bring up the topic of exploring other boys names?

Make Alex the middle name? My husband is a Jr. and we both considered the option of my son being the third. But I really didn’t want to. I didn’t want my son and my husband to have the same name. My husbands family calls both my husband and his dad the same name, no nicknames. I just don’t like it personally. But I said I would be completely okay with his first or middle name as my son’s middle name. We ended up agreeing on a first and middle name that had nothing to do with either of us

I’m 100% against naming kids after parents, especially first names. I know it’s a common practice, but I think they should have their own identity.

I think it’s stupid to name your children the same name as your partner. It’s weird. I’m actually working on a book about why I didn’t name my son after his father, even though it’s a family tradition on his side.

My brother is a junior and he and my dad have had issues with name/mail mix ups. Also, it’s kind of silly. I think it’s weird to not give a child their own identify. When we’re around family my brother is called “little Aaron” and my dad is “big Aaron”. Same with my uncle and his son, but they just call him Jr. Anyway, that’s personal opinion. 
If you like more unique names, what about Alec? I also like the idea of sharing middle names since then the kid will have its own first name, but there’s still sharing.

You can explore it, or give it as a middle name, or call him something else like Lex. But if you're finding out the gender I'd just wait until then so you're not potentially causing conflict for no good reason

My husbands name is William and wanted to name my son William jr and I said hell no! So we did Jordan William for his middle name. His dad brother and brothers son are all named the same and it’s so dam confusing.

My son is Thomas Joseph the fifth. I was so so so against it but seeing how proud my husband is and him loving up on our son makes it worth it

I gave my daughter my middle name. I was named after my dad so it held a very sentimental value to my family & I. I don’t see anything wrong with it but if you don’t like the idea I wouldn’t do it.
