I quit birth control after being on it for 8 years (17-25) in January and have been waiting for my period to regulate. I've had maybe two "real" periods.

Well, I had my yearly OBGYN appointment today and told her and she informed me that my patterns are actually irregular and she doubts based on my memory of this year I've ovulated except maybe once or twice during my small periods I did have. When I get to the point when I'm trying for a baby, she said medical intervention will most likely be needed.

I feel like I've been punched in the gut and I'm incredibly disappointed.. very disheartening to expect reproduction to be a struggle or even impossible one day in the future.
