Does your husband help around the house?

I’m a FTM and a SAHM and I’m really struggling with the fact that my husband doesn’t help out around the house.. he works from home but half the time he starts in the afternoon when he’s supposed to start at 8, and when he’s done with work he will just watch tv or play video games.. I’m beginning to get fed up with it..
He cooks sometimes but that really doesn’t matter to me when he doesn’t clean a thing this wasn’t our agreement when we decided I would stay home! 😔

So my husband works around 50-60 hour weeks. The first few months after baby were super difficult as we were just finding our groove. He has totally stepped up his game lately. What has helped us is having lots of talks when we are calm. Also him jumping in to give me time to clean, cook, or just sleep without our toddler (also 20 weeks pregnant.) We have a rule in our home called "one thing." He will ask me when he sees me exhausted or busy "if there is one thing he can do." This has helped both of us tremendously. I am no longer barking orders at him and he feels like a knight in shinning armor coming to rescue to take the garbage out. We also have regular talks about what we value in our home to be cleaned and what that both means for us to achieve that. For both of us we hate dishes we also hate dishes in our sink. So we both just do them on the norm. If they pile up we don't get mad at the other one we just try to be understanding. I have issues with stairs (partially handicapped) so my husband has a job of bringing laundry from our rooms to the laundry room and loading and bringing back upstairs then I agree to put it away. It doesn't always work smoothly and throwing a toddler in the mix can be chaos. Planned time we each get is vital for our survival too. So my husband might play a video game and I might soak in a bath we try to make both a priority. I just have to vocalize my needs and tell him when I am doing something if not then he doesn't get it. Men are bad at hints and signals. We joke all the time my husband's view on marriage is that it is working 150% and he is happy and if he is happy then he assumes I am. So don't feel bad for speaking up and doing it in a calm way. As a mom we don't have hours that we get to clock out. Hugs and best wishes.

We both work, but I handle the majority. Basically everything but his dads space is my job and he’s responsible for his dad (he has dementia and is completely Incontinent). I do the cooking and cleaning. We have cleaning days, where we work together and just get everything done.

I do most of the cleaning and chores but if I don’t get to it then my husband does it without me asking. He definitely doesn’t just sit around watching tv and playing video games though, he plays with our daughter and is involved with her routine throughout the evening until her bedtime. He goes through phases with video games but when he’s playing them he only plays them after our LO goes to sleep. Tv we usually hang together in the evening and watch if we’re not doing anything else

My husband washes most of the dishes, usually cleans the bathroom, puts his clothes away, and makes us breakfast and the kids lunch most days, dinner occasionally. I do laundry, vacuuming and mopping, dinner most nights, breakfast and lunch with he doesn't. We share cleaning the living room, usually he picks up and I vacuum, dust, and clean the furniture. I do most of the flat surface (table, counters, stove).
