Boyfriend or baby daddy? I have only heard the term “baby daddy” used when you two aren’t together. If you aren’t together, it’s none of your business. If you are together, asking who he’s texting isn’t out of line, but if you do it all the time, I’d find it really annoying and aggravating. And asking what he’s talking about is kind of weird.

Yes and no. I'd be annoyed if hubs was constantly asking me every time I was on my phone, I'm sure he would too. But I'll ask sometimes if I'm curious and it's not a big deal.

I ask when he's talking on the phone or if he's really engaged into texting. 
Normally it's someone I know and want to say hi and a quick question, reminder, spouse related or something, but let them continue in with their conversation. Same thing if it's me on the phone. However, I do know his tone/facial features, so if it's serious I leave it alone.

If he or you aren't hiding anything then you guys can look in each other's phones. I'm married and my husband tells me when someone texts him or calls him. I do the same. He never had to ask me or me asking him. Plus, sometimes we switch phones. Can't hide anything when switching phones. Lol. If you feel he is doing something ask him and then ask to see his phone. I don't care what anyone says about if it's yours business or not. If I'm fucking someone and they won't let me look in their phone I'm leaving them. Fuck the bullshit. Lol.
