How long after retrieval?

Hi, how long after your retrieval did you have your FET? I had my transfer and embryos have been sent out for PGS. I just started period and still no word about starting medication for FET. Seems like I will have to skip this cycle? What do you all think?

I would call your clinic immediately and tell them that you’ve started your period. My transfer didn’t happen until 5/6 months after my retrieval, but I did a hysteroscopy and a SHG, along with a trial transfer (no transfer meds, she just inserted the catheter to make sure she would have no issues for the real transfer), plus I had a long Lupron protocol so my situation is very different. If I had skipped the Lupron I think I would have been able to transfer maybe a month or two after my retrieval, due to the timing of my hysteroscopy, SHG, and trial transfer. Did your dr mention a hysteroscopy? It seems like half of the women get one as a standard procedure, but not every dr does it as part of their protocol it I guess. Either way I’d call your clinic and ask them what the next step is. When I finally started my period for my transfer cycle I called on the first day of bleeding and they scheduled me to come in the next day to check my lining. My lining looked good so I believe they scheduled a follow up appointment 2 days later and that’s when I started Vivelle patches (estrogen). I think about a week later (maybe less?) I started progesterone and I had my transfer a few days after that.

For us doc suggested to skip first cycle to let my body recovered. since I have PCOS irregular longer period and it took almost 2 months.

Did you call your clinic? I started FET meds immediately once period started and by the time lining was ready I had PGS results.

I started next cycle. I didn't PGS test, but it takes about 3 weeks to get your body ready for the transfer, so by that time you'll have the results. You should call into your clinic the day you start you period and ask if you can start your transfer cycle. For my protocol, I had to start Estrace on cycle day 1.
