Stocking up on formula?

Question

Should I be? My boyfriend says we shouldn't get much formula because we don't know what the baby will like or what will/won't work for her. Do you agree?

I agree with him. No need to stock up until your sure that's what the baby will like.

Don't stock up in case baby doesn't agree with it, allergies or otherwise. Register online with Emfamil, similar, and Gerber and they will each send you a good amount of samples and coupons. Also ask your OB for samples they should have some in their office. We've got a ton of formula now all free and I plan to nurse but wanted some emergency back up. Hope this helps!

Don't stock up on anything because you dont know what your baby will be allergic too than you'll waste time returning everything that's what happened to me, my son was allergic to his body wash and wipes that's I has a ton of and also you don't know what diapers your going to like,I went though three brands before I found a brand I liked that didn't always have him leaking out of the sides! It's all trial and error so I wouldn't get too much of anything!

I wouldn't bc besides the fact that it expires, your baby may not tolerate a particular kind. I'd wait. Stock up on diapers and wipes instead

I bought some before my baby was born. I knew I wanted to use members mark from Sam's club. I just taped receipts to the containers. Here we are 3 months later and he's doing great on the formula.

Yes I 100% agree. We ended up having to put our son on enfamil AR bcuz he had acid reflux. I had quite a few other brands of formula, even in the big containers that I opened and had to throw away after using a cpl times bcuz they made my son spit up too much. You never know baby could end up having acid reflux or being lactose intolerant etc. Formula isn't cheap either so I would definitely hold off

Don't stock up on one brand but I do recommend signing up for samples. I got some nice samples from Enfamil and Similac.

My daughter didn't do well on the Gerber when my son did. I have her on the gentle stomach one of I think it's Similac or that other brand. I kept forgetting the name when I try to tell someone haha.

Instead of sticking up why not put what you would pay for some on a gift card. That way if you don't need formula you still have the $$ for other baby needs. I suggest doing the same for diapers and wipes.

If this next LO is like his sister we will have to formula feed and we haven't bought any (7 weeks from due date). We have a few free samples and if we need formula my husband will run out and get some but we have about a weeks worth already.
