When did you have your cervix checked the first time?

My midwife isn't checking me; it's pointless and uncomfortable. Doesn't indicate labor is coming soon, or late, etc. I like it cuz I know how painful they can be

I always decline all checks. No point.

I declined a check at 37 weeks.. I always bled a little after checks with my first and I was 1cm until I went into actual labor so it was just disappointing. I may get a check at my next appointment (38 + 3) because I’ve been having contractions on and off but honestly I don’t put a lot of weight behind it

My ob didn’t check mine at all. But at 38+5 I went to L&D so of course they checked it a few times during that visit. I guess my ob told me there was no reason and the risk of infection outweighed knowing bc you can sit at being dilated a certain amount for weeks.
