Won't drink with a straw cup?

Question

My son is completely off the bottle and only uses the Munchkin 360 cups to drink both milk and water. I would love for him to be able to use a straw cup for water for when we're out instead of me having to bring a water bottle and fill up his 360. No matter what I do he doesn't see to grasp the concept of a straw, he just puts his lips on it or chews on it. When I try to get him to imitate sucking by watching me he blows instead. 🤦‍♀️  Any tips on "teaching" how to drink from a straw? I've been trying since 7 months and he's now 13 months!
I know it's not a big deal but it's kinda annoying haha!

I kept trying and trying the munchkin weighted straw cup.l with no luck. What worked for her FINALLY was learning how to suck up her applesauce. 😂😂 She eats no sugar added Mott’s applesauce and it comes in a pouch, she sucks it out. Soon as she started doing that with the pouches I tried the weighted straw cup again and she got the hang of it!

We used a nuk sippy cup, it comes with a cap so it’s mobile.

Try a regular straw with a cup first, I would also place the tip of my pointer finger over the top of the straw to keep the liquid in the straw. I would remove the straw from the cup, keeping the top of the straw covered with my fingertip and put the straw in his mouth and have him put his lips around it and remove my finger to let the water go in his mouth. He got the concept real quick. I’m not sure if that makes sense.
