Would you travel internationally with your baby now? I have a sick father who has not met my baby but he lives in another country.

I would quarantine when getting there and quarantine coming back. What would you do?

My mom has stage 4 brain cancer, diagnosed in april of this year. I was 5 months pregnant at the time and I didn’t want to take the chance to fly and get sick, in fear of my unborn baby and my sick mom getting covid. 
Fast forward to now, and I still am uncomfortable flying to see my mom. I even made plans to drive across the country with my newborn baby to see my mom. Plans fell through, and I haven’t been able to see her still. 
I want to see my mom so badly. For her, for me, and so she can meet her grandson before she dies. 
But if I get sick, my baby could die. 
If I get sick, I could give it to my mom and she would definitely die. 
I may regret not seeing my mom if she dies before covid settles down and I can get out to see her, but if I was the cause of her getting sick, or my son getting the virus, I’d never forgive myself. 
That’s how I feel, you make the decision that is best for you. I hope you get to see your dad :)

I have family that just traveled internationally, less than a month ago, from halfway around the world to get here. They quarantined for 10 days upon arrival at a hotel, and then got tested and then came to our house. 
They said the flights were all practically empty, the airports empty, and everyone was wearing masks, everything was super clean. 
With our first baby we traveled with him at 2 1/2 months, it was fine. when they are super little they aren’t running around putting everything in their mouth and touching everything. 
Im not sure if I would travel now, but just wanted to post that my family had a very safe experience traveling internationally.

When you say sick, do you mean like dying soon? If you think he has 6+ months left then I would wait till April when things start calming down again. I’m afraid we’re going to surge horrifically from Thanksgiving and basically the next few months from holidays, so I don’t think its a great time to go. However, if you mean sick on his death bed now, it’d be a tough call. If you didn’t go and he died you’ll likely hold a lot of regret. The other thing would be could you do zoom/video calls with him?

I wouldn’t fly internationally with a baby this age if there wasn’t a pandemic. Dad can come here.
