Vitamin D supplement?

My pediatrician told me that breastfed babies need a daily vitamin D supplement. Has anyone else's said this?

Yes baby gets all vitamin through breast milk except vitamin d 
 We use this brand. I put a drop on his pacifier every night before bed.

I was told to give her vit. D drops and she loves them I save her dose for when shes super fussy and it calms her down!

Mine said that I could supplement if I wanted but as long as I keep taking my prenatal which has 100%DV of vitamin d then I don't need to because he is getting it from me. Also to take him in the sun occasionally to get it naturally. Anytime we go for walks we let the sun stay on him for awhile before closing the shade on the car seat. If it's cooler outside we let him soak more in because he isn't too hot. Just watch for sunburns

Yes, my doctor told me if I take 5,000-6,000 IU a day baby will get enough vitamin D through my breastmilk. Or if you don't want to take it yourself, buy a baby supplement. It's important so that your child won't develop rickets.

Yes if your baby is exclusively breastfed you should supplement with vitamin D.  D drops are pretty convenient.

Yup but my baby was horribly fussy when we gave it too him and each time it progessivly got worse to were we ended up in the ER. Something in the vitamin D dosent affect him well so we stopped the drops. We are waiting until his appointment in 2 weeks to figure out what we can give him.
