Did you get your babies lip tie corrected

I was told my baby would never nurse properly unless I got her tongue tie cut. I was very very pressured by the hospital lactation consultant and she even went as far as scheduling it on my behalf.
I decided to give us an honest try before I put my baby through that. 
She took to nursing immediately and thrived at it. We never had any sort of problems at all. She was a champion. We made it a full year exclusively breastfeeding - she never even took a single feeding from a bottle. 
Please trust your gut and don't let them pressure you. Hospitals are soooo procedure eager.

My middle step-daughter had that issue and my husband has said the hospital was very insistent on surgery to fix it because "she'll never be able to nurse properly." My husband and his first wife said no. She nursed just fine and never needed surgery. She's 27 now and has no issues whatsoever.

Both of my girls had lip tie, but neither had feeding trouble with it, so there was no need to correct it. Though my 2 year old did fall and break it (I was told that could happen too), so it's not there anymore. My 8 month old daughter still has it. But no issues with it.

This is a little different but my brother was born with a tongue tie and the doctors didn’t catch it. He ended up having speaking problems when he got older. Our dentist actually noticed it when he was five and that’s when it was corrected. He also was never able to breast feed. I think correctly it early is better but I’m sure that’s different than a tongue tie.

No, she has a minor one and I just worked with her on breastfeeding. We got a professional baby massage and with time things got better/easier 
Getting the lip tie release can have unintended consequences for how their face and smile and all that will look.

My son had a lip and tongue tie. He would tear my nipples apart and I was bleeding constantly. I wanted to breastfeed so and that I tried to push through, but I couldn’t. Got mastitis 4 times. Decided to get laser surgery for his lip and tongue ties when he was two months old, and now breastfeeding is a breeze! Fixed all of our problems!

No but only because I didn’t find out about it until she was almost 2. I had a very difficult time nursing and ended up stopping at 2 weeks.
