Baby girl popped out on December 1st!
After three days of excruciating contractions, a trip to L&D just to get sent home, two sleepless nights, and a return trip to L&D with the fastest induction possible, baby girl came on December 1st! I was having contractions that were consistently 4-5 minutes apart for days but not dilating. My second trip to labor and delivery they decided after seeing the pain that I was in to induce me with pitocin. I was given the pitocin at 10 AM when I was only 2 cm dilated. By 2:30 I was at 8 cm, and by 3:15 I was at 10 and ready to push. I started pushing at 3:30 and baby Madelyn Jolene arrived at 3:50! After having such horrible contractions for so long, after I got the epidural there was no pain to compare to what I had been feeling so pushing her out was a breeze. I was 38w6d, she was originally due December 9th. It’s true what they say, all the pain is worth it. Holding her still feels so surreal! She came in at 6 lbs 2 oz and 19 1/4 inches and she is breastfeeding like a champ!
