Taking blood thinners during pregnancy?

Hey, I'm currently 4w1d pregnant. I had a previous miscarriage 2 months ago and my midwife advised that I take aspirin daily in my next pregnancy but didn't explain why. Has anybody else been recommended to take a blood thinners during pregnancy? Did they say why?

Me! Ive had 3 miscarriages between 11-13 weeks. I got testing and it turns out I have a blood clotting disorder. We were able to conceive again and I am now almost 7 weeks pregnant. Ive had to do blood thinner injections in my stomach once a day and take a low dose aspirin everyday. When the doctor first diagnosed me.. I would cringe at the thought of having to inject myself but the needle is really small. Yes it does hurt in certain areas and I have bruises all over my stomach but I have faith that this treatment will help me carry this baby to full term. Good luck to you.

I took it after 2 losses and seemed to work as I'm now 28weeks
