In laws got Covid, insists their immunity makes them entitled to see the baby

2 out of the 7 people in my in law’s household tested positive for Covid the week before thanksgiving. FIL and the other SIL tested negative, SIL got symptoms, but the three younger kids they are fostering did not get tested.

My fiancé got a call today from MIL saying “it might be good thing we got it before the baby came because we should have immunity for 90 days so it’s safe if we see the baby.”

THESE PEOPLE go out to big events all the time, don’t wear masks, don’t social distance, work in busy customer-contact jobs, and REALLY don’t care about what WE want.

I wouldn’t be as worried if our county wasn’t currently a hot spot for new cases, but the chances of the ones who tested negative still getting it is not worth it to me.

I’m so tempted to not tell people when my induction is scheduled and just not announce anything when he’s born.
