IUD pros and cons?

Question

Hi! Those of you who have an IUD, how do you like it? What’s the pros and cons?
I’m considering getting one but I’m so nervous!. I’m also on antidepressants and didn’t know if those would affect it. 
My mom has an IUD and she loves it.

It’s different for everyone. My experience with the iud was a horror story but here is the light version:
Day after insertion I fainted (told this was my body in shock) some faint right after insertion 
Had it in for about 2 years, it embedded itself into my uterus wall, upside down! Had to have surgery to get it removed ... I can’t tell you how much pain and suffering I went through with it. 
I decided, no more foreign objects in my body, ever

I have the copper iud and I love it. Sure, my periods are a bit heavier, but the really heavy part only lasts two days. My cramps before my period are manageable with ibuprofen and a heating pad when necessary. It isn't painful during sex for me and he can't feel the strings either so thats all good. I got headaches every night and a whole bunch of other issues on hormones, so this was definitely the best decision I ever made. 
Everyone is different and reacts very differently to bc, but I'd say it's worth the try to see how it works for you.

I had an IUD before I had kids and found it to be painful during inter course but good at stopping pregnancy.
Now married and with 2 children I had another IUD and got it removed quite quickly as I found it was making my periods last for 12 days and they were a lot heavier.

I have the mirena and when I first got it I spotted for over 8 months, not saying it happens to everyone but that's what happened to me, then it finally stopped, I still get a really really light period almost every month and cramping, but other than that it has given me no other problems and I haven't gotten pregnant on it so it must be working lol

I had the paraguard, and wasn’t too happy with it. My body would have these random uterus cramps that would tense so bad that I couldn’t move or walk or do anything! Doctors couldn’t figure out what was going on, but after I took it out everything went away, never had any of those episodes again. It’s different for everyone 🤷🏻‍♀️
