Ectopic pregnancy help

I am supposed to be 6 weeks today, went to my dr because of spotting for a week and a half. Had my hcg tested and was at 42 on Friday. Waited over the weekend and tested again on Monday they were 47. Was told this is most likely an ectopic pregnancy but dr wanted another hcg today (Thursday) results are 67. So it has gone up 20 more points. The spotting recently stopped over the weekend but has now begun again today.

What is happening? What comes next? This is my first experience with a possible pregnancy/ectopic pregnancy and I am so confused and heartbroken. Any advice would be nice.
