Elf on the shelf yes or no?

I’m trying to decide if I want to get a elf on the shelf now that my sons are 4 and 1 we do the one gift from Santa a year but I’m trying to see other parents opinion on it?

Instead of asking people online, I would show your kids some videos and tell them about the idea and go based off of their reaction to it instead

I say yes.
Moving a tiny doll from one place to another every night literally takes 10 seconds and is not a huge deal. However, the excitement the kids get from finding him is a huge deal. I bought a "toy" advent calendar from amazon for 15 bucks. Every day in December till xmas my kid finds the elf and then gets to open a door and collect their prize.
I highly reccomend it.

We used elf on the shelf for my son for YEARS! Every year he would “come back” he’d surprise the him with Christmas pajamas and a Christmas book! My son loooved this! We started when he was a toddler and finally stopped 2 Christmases ago. Just told him that when he got older, his elf will go do it’s magic for other younger kids lol heads up, there will be mornings you over sleep or times you get busy and forget, so have a couple easy back up ideas that you can sneak and do in a hurry in case you forgot to do it the night before LOL Pinterest has tons of ideas! To say the least, I totally recommend! LOL!

Someone pointed out that if he sits regularly, it looks like he's holding his penis and I can't under it lol he creeped me out before but now there's no way I can do it. Besides, I'm very bad at ideas and ill be bad at remembering to move him.

I’m not doing it because I’d totally forget and it’s too much work for me lol. My kids are very happy with their advent chocolate calendar. Who knows. Maybe in the future. The kids in my class love it and talk about theirs.
