So me and my boyfriend have been talking for I think at least all of 2020 about getting married next summer. He originally let me in on his thoughts of us getting engaged before the year was over but has now shifted to saying he can’t afford the ring he wants to get me until March (which is totally fine with me) the only thing is, he has recently decided he wants to join the army and that it would be easier if we were married before basic vs after because of extra paperwork that would need to be done. This would be totally fine if he didn’t leave for basic at the end of may/beginning of June. This would mean we have maybe 3 months to plan a wedding and that idea stresses me out completely. I’ve even mentioned the idea of us eloping in may and having a wedding after he gets back from basic so we would have more time to plan the celebration but he isn’t down for it. Thoughts? Also if anyone who is reading this could weigh in and give some real advice about what it’s like to be in a military relationship it would be appreciated:)
