Alcohol while breastfeeding ?

I would like to have one drink of it but I’m breastfeeding does that affect baby?:/ what can I do,?

Yup! As long you’re ok to drive you’re ok to nurse 🙂 and you don’t have to pump and dump. Alcohol processes out of your breastmilk the same way it does your blood stream! 
Now if you go out to get drinks and are super engorged when you get home but aren’t sober enough to drive, but you just need some relief, then you would pump and dump.

I’ve heard that one drink in a certain time period is ok. Or some moms pump and dump. My sister and sister in law both breastfed and drank. It wasn’t excessive, but it never negatively impacted my nephews. Have you met with/connected with a lactation consultant? That’s probably your best bet for information. The book Cribsheet by Emily Oster also looks at all the research behind studies like that and summarizes very nicely. I haven’t gotten to that chapter yet, though.

Just to be safe pump a few bottles so that they are there if you need them and have yourself some fun momma. You deserve it.

What everyone else said! But if you’re nervous I would have the drink either right as you start feeding or when you’re done, that way it won’t get to the baby while they eat for the current or next feeding.

If you can drive you can feed. They also make these strips that test the alcohol level in your milk so if you are worried or unsure pump and check with the strips. They are at Walmart for I think $5 for the smallest box of them
