Today was wild...!

Had a primary section scheduled for tomorrow (Monday, 12/7 at 39+2) due to a cardiac history. Friday, I had my last OB appt. and my cervix was closed. Yesterday, I had no impending signs of labor. I took a little milk of magnesia before bed because I wanted to try to have a BM before delivery (I have been horrendously constipated since the very beginning and MoM didn’t work before, but I figured it couldn’t hurt to try again). I fell asleep around 1:00am, after tossing and turning for about an hour. At 2:00am, I woke up with the urge to have a BM and had horrible diarrhea 😬. I was pleasantly surprised... but it felt different from any laxative-inducing BM I’ve ever had. Well around 2:30am I realized my “intestinal cramps” and horrible back spasms were coming 3 minutes apart... so I woke up my husband to tell him I either had a kidney stone or I royally messed up my GI system with the MoM and was going to die. I was in complete denial- it couldn’t be labor lol. I’m a FTM; how could it happen that fast. We ended up calling my doc and heading to the hospital. I was certain they weren’t going to keep me... but the first thing the nurse said when she hooked baby and me up to the monitor was “Well, you’re not going anywhere; you’ve had 4 contractions in the 6 mins you’ve been here!” I was shocked. At 4am, I was having contractions every 2-3 minutes and was 3cm dilated. And it was back labor (baby was sunny side up)- I couldn’t get any relief. They called in anesthesia and my OB and got the OR ready. By 6am, I was 6cm already and my contractions were back-to-back. By 7am, I was in the OR (the spinal was a DREAM) and my sweet baby boy entered the world at 7:52am. It has been the wildest day of my life. I am still in complete shock...And I couldn’t be happier!
