What do I need for a c-section recovery?

I was planning on natural birth and had all these pins and feeling ready. Come to find out im very likely going to need a c-section and can't find good postpartum recovery lists 😑. Recommendations needed puh-leeaase

I have had 5. I recommend leggings or pj pants, high waisted underwear, a squirter bottle (usual given by hospital) helps clean you down there if hurts to bend to wipe. One of those sticks with grabber to pick up items.... but honestly walk walk walk don't lay around or recovery much harder. It isn't as scary as rumors have it....happy to answer any questions

The hospital I delivered at provided me with a belly wrap after my c-section; I felt like it really helped.  I’m not sure if all hospitals provide one.

I was so prepared for vaginal birth and ended up with an emergency csection. I know someone else mentioned no to the adult diapers but I was so glad to have them. They made me feel comfortable in my movement and bleeding and when I transitioned from those to underwear I felt like a new woman, like I was making progress haha Walk lots and ask for pain meds. Nothing to be afraid of! 💙

Didn’t need much. I’ve had 2. I used the big pads and mesh underwear in the hospital but then regular pads and granny panties at home. I honestly 10/10 do NOT recommend the adult diapers lol... but that’s it🤷🏻‍♀️

My best advice, when they come in and ask you what your pain level is on a scale of 1 to 10, make sure that you consider what it is when you get up to walk around verses if you just woke up and have been laying still. They are asking you this question so they can figure out how strong to make the pain medication they give you. I made the mistake of giving them a low number the first time they asked, because I had been laying in bed doing nothing for so long and it didn't feel that bad. After they left the room and I got up.... I discovered that the pain was much more intense! 
One other thing I want to let you know about. Sometimes when you have a C-section gas gets trapped inside of you when you are sewn up. This is very common during operations because air is touching parts of you that normally it is not. It's not dangerous, but it can travel up your spine and into your shoulders and cause some mild to intense pain. I didn't experience this at all with my first C-section, but with my second C-section I got it really bad and I had no idea what it was. It was insanely painful and I was very distressed because a lot of the nurses didn't seem to know what was wrong. But finally an older experienced one explain to me what this was. I came to find out the lot of women who have had C-sections experience this.

I second a grabber stick! It made me feel capable and almost normal again. Also, Depends undergarments and lots of pillows.
