Period or post Partum blood?

So I’m 8 weeks post Partum and currently breastfeeding. I read that if you are BF, you don’t get a period. Well I was still having some blood from postpartum, but it was very very light and yellow in color. It was almost done. Then me and my husband had sex, and now I’m bleeding dark red blood. I’m confused what’s happening... help?!

It could be your period. I breastfed both my girls and got my period right after my postpartum bleeding stops. Got mine at 6 weeks both times

Idk who told you that but its not true. It can delay a period but not stop periods completely. I have breastfed all my babies and always got my periods working the first 2-3 months. I would definitely say your having your first PP period.  The timing sounds about right too.

With all four of my babies my period came in less than four months even exclusively breastfeeding. Sooo it happens. My SIL went over a year without a period, so unfair lol 😉

You can still get a period while breastfeeding. The reason why they may say you don’t is because some women don’t ovulate while they breastfeed.
