The Prophet - on children
As a general statement, I think Kahlil Gibran is a beautiful spiritual writer. And in The Prophet he says lovely things about children. But then he says, "Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself. They come through you but not from you..."
And then I think... uh-huh. Truly spoken, sir, like someone who has never been pregnant or given birth. Nice try, Kahlil.
