Just curious. I’m referring to slang- “the old ball and chain” etc

Answer

I find it rude, because it’s only every been used against me. As if I’m holding my so back from doing things or being someone he wants to be- which was never the case. People used to call me it, but not anymore as they realized I’m in it for the long haul and that he’s free to make his own choices.
My so has never/would never call me that.
