Greetings, what would you do?

My MIL is a nice lady, however, she is extremely irresponsible when it comes to money. Now, I'm pregnant and she is GUN HO dead set to be the person to open our kids first bank acct. I work in the Financial Industry, and I am hell bent on its not going to happen. This upsets the husband. He says "my Grandpa opened mine, why can't this Grandma open our kids?"

Its a fight I dont want to fight. How to I explain to husband w/o hurting his feelings, that I dont trust his mom with money, especially our first unborn child?

(I don't even trust this woman to dogsit!)

Looking for insight. Wondering if I'm too blunt and rude in my delivery 🤔
