Has anyone used a stethoscope to listen to baby’s heartbeat?

I’ve read that you can hear it with a stethoscope around 18-20 weeks. I’m not comfortable with the home Doppler thing. Wondering if a stethoscope has worked for anyone?

My husband is a physician and has listened with his stethoscope my last two pregnancies, we have bothered to try yet with this pregnancy since I’m only 19w.

You wouldn’t be able to hear until the like last weeks

I tried last night. I’ll be 19 weeks tomorrow and I didn’t hear anything.... nothing. It was like holding it to a couch lol- not even air or blood movement.
