Tips for newborn sleeping at night?

I have a 5 day old who sleeps so well during the day and keeps me up from 11pm-8am. I’ll put him inside his bassinet and he will fuss al night. It’s maddening. I tried to keep him up today. It’s hard though. He just wants to nap during the day no matter how loud or bright it is. I need my sleep. Any tips to get baby to sleep at night?

Just keep doing what you do, calm and dark at night, bright and a normal noise level at daytime. Baby will learn! Also let baby nurse as long and as often as baby want during the night - there's more hormones that makes you sleepy in evening/night milk.

This is what babies do.  He doesn’t comprehend that he is not part of you, so just hang in there! It does get easier .
