Friday or Saturday weddings?

I just got engaged and we have it narrowed down to a weekend just unsure if it should be a Friday or a Saturday. Theres pros and cons for each. Id love to hear everyones opinions and reasons

Most people work, and wouldn’t take a day off for someone’s wedding. I wouldn’t. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I work on Fridays. I would prefer not to have to take off work to attend a wedding.

My best friend is getting married on a Friday but still expects everyone to do all of the pre-wedding things (rehearsal dinner, etc.). She expects everyone to “make a long vacation weekend out of it” & honestly it’s incredibly stressful. If you’re going to do it Friday, please understand not everyone has jobs they can just take off of no biggie. & really don’t do it Friday if you have people (especially bridal party/close family) coming in from out of town

We choose Saturday, we felt it was easier for our wedding party and for our family and friends. My brother had gotten married on a Friday and traffic and timing it was stressful for families with children who were in school and also for families who had hired sitters.
So I would consider who most of your guests are? Are they people with children? Are the children invited? Are they retired or are they employed? Who is in your wedding party? Do you plan on them needing to spend their vacation time to be in your wedding?

A Friday (at least non-covid) is more chances people won’t make it unless they want to take work off. But I know Saturdays are more expensive.

For planning, Fridays are cheaper for the bride & groom usually. But for guests it’s usually pretty inconvenient because most typically work Fridays so you run the risk of people can’t/won’t take it off. 
Saturday’s, are pretty typical for weddings to tend to be more expensive but also more convenient for guests. 
I spent a lot of time debating this with my fiance. Unfortunately our wedding was cancelled because of covid & baby #2

We had a Friday wedding bc our family was traveling to us. So it was better for flights and what not. Plus we were able to have a long 4d weekend with everyone. Most people flew in Wed night Thursday morning. Had a rehearsal party then wedding Friday and then post wedding celebration stuff on Sat before everyone left sunday
