When flying- bring car seat or no?

We are taking a trip this weekend. Should I bring our car seat and chexk it on the plane - or rent one from the car rental place? Do they have numerous car seats on hand or is it first come first serve?

Bring one for sure. But check it at the gate not with your luggage.

When I flew with my son, I brought his car seat on the plane with us. I feel like it made the whole flight more pleasant. He’s used to sleeping in it, in the car. So, he fell asleep during take off and woke up about 20 minutes before landing. It was a pain in the ass to carry it through the airport while pushing him in the stroller and carrying our bags by myself. But it was worth it.
