Christmas cards to basic training

My husband is in basic for the holidays, and as I have been sending letters to him, I thought there might be some recruits that don’t have anyone to write to them for the holidays. My sisters and I were thinking of writing a bunch of Christmas cards to send to all the recruits in his division, hoping to make their holiday maybe a little brighter.

Would this be too weird? I don’t want to embarrass my husband but I’d also like to make their holiday better if possible. Does anyone have any advice on this? Should I address the package of letters to the division itself or should I send it to him and let him give out the cards? Would this even be appropriate, or would this potentially get him in trouble?
