I recently started listening to Dr. Laura on the radio since the pandemic started. My mom used to listen to her when my sisters and I were in middle school and in high school. So now I am an adult doing the same. I’m quickly learning that Dr Laura is strongly against having your kid in daycare/pre school wether you have a full time/part time or if you’re a stay at home mom. My status is I am a stay at home mom. I have a 5year old in pre school & my 3yr old daughter in pre school now. They are in a private school that is still open thru this pandemic. Which they really love going to. (we live in san diego) But after listening to Dr. Laura, I basically have had a growing anxiety of “What am I doing? Why do I have my kids in pre school? This professional Dr. Laura is saying what a terrible mom I am for sending my kids somewhere where they are not loved all day long” and so forth. Ive always considered home school but my husband is not in the same boat. And I am 50/50 about it. They have all the resources there to teach my kids and I am not a teacher. But I did well with my kids up until they went into pre school. I taught them as much as I could to prepare them a bit for pre school or kindergarten. But I definitely have anxiety that maybe I should’ve waited to send them to school at all until they were both in kindergarten. I am so torn in the way I am feeling. Just an overwhelming sense of guilt now for sending them to pre school. While I am home. Please no negative comments. Just need some advice and opinions.I want to know if it’s wrong that I have my kids in pre school.
