IUD or not?

My doctor wants to take me off my birth control bc my hormones are all over the place making me sweaty all freaking day and she wants to put an IUD in and I’m scared and don’t know what to expect

IUD pain varies person to person. some women take no medication, or 3 ibuprofen or prescription pain medication the day before and of insertion. for me personally it didn’t hurt. 
the IUD is 99.8% effective at preventing pregnancy. <1% of women get pregnant. they come in different forms. Paragaurd (hormone free, copper) Kyleena 19.5 mg, Skyla 13.5 mg, Mirena 52mg and Liletta 52mg.  ur doctor to figure out which one is best for you. 
it’s low maintenance with a thread check you do once a month. it can take anywhere from 3-6 months for you body to adjust to an IUD. 
Common side effects are missed periods,bleeding and spotting, pelvic pain, back pain, headaches, and nausea. there’s definitely more but it varies from person to person. and they go away within 3-6 months.

I personally loved my Mirena IUD for the most part. I'd say it's worth a shot.
