Solids

Angie • Baby#1 due in June
So we started solids yesterday! She had carrots mixed with some breastmilk. How many times a day should she be having solids? I plan on breastfeeding till she's a year so I don't want a dramatic drop in my supply. I'm going to ask my doctor but want to see what you ladies think.

We just started a little more than a week ago, and are doing two meals a day. A morning and an evening. I like the saying 'food before one is just for fun,' and I'm trying to expose her to lots of different textures and flavors but not stressing on the quantity. I've only seen a decrease in breastmilk of a couple ounces a day (I exclusively pump).

Exactly, I pump the same but she takes less, so I have been able to freeze more!

I exclusively pump too. My little one only eats a few bites though so I haven't had any decrease in supply. She's still hungry and eating normally... If you pump exclusively just don't pump any less than usual. Couldn't hurt to stock up on breast milk if she doesn't end up eating it all :)

We started on thanksgiving. I gave her some sweet potato mashed and mixed with water. I don't know why I didn't think to mix with breast milk!!! I pump, so it wouldn't be a problem. Glad I saw this!!!!
