Are you ok w/ your spouse having a tattoo for an ex that died ?

Their ex got killed while they were together and had the tattoo years prior to meeting you . Would it bother you ?

I’m actually surprised there’s so many “no” votes. I would be okay with it. He’s grieving the loss of someone he was close with. Someone who’s dead. She’s not going to come up and snatch him away from the grave. He was with her when she passed away. It’s a memorial tattoo.

No I wouldn’t have an issue.
However, I don’t see this an an ex situation.
This is a significant other passed away while they were still together. He also got the tattoo before you all got together. This was his way of being able to grieve the life of someone he obviously cared so much about. 
If this person was truly an ex, again o wouldn’t have an issue with it. It is clear that said person had an impact on their life in some way or another.

You dont get to dictate what people put on their skin. Especially if it was done before you got together. Why the hell would you be upset that your partner grieved in their own way? Hell my bf wants to get a tattoo for our babies and is not only thinking of incorporating the twin we lost at 6 weeks gestation but my baby girl I lost at 18 weeks gestation from a prior relationship. I adore him because that's not something he would ever need to consider.

I read it wrong and voted no when I meant yes! He is grieving the loss of someone that he was with prior to me. He got the tattoo prior to me. I would have no issues with it and honestly would just think of it like a normal tattoo - not really crossing my mind!

My sister passed away a couple of weeks ago and her boyfriend was talking about getting a tattoo to remember her by. I would hope that whoever he has a serious relationship with next is not insecure about it. It wouldn’t bother me one bit. It was a significant time for him and that is how he chooses to remember her. He got the tattoo before he met you, he had a life before you.
