Sorry for the lengthy post, butcould use some words of encouragement/ advice. Baby boy will be 7 months next week. I’ve breastfed and supplemented with formula since he was born. I’ve been back at work since September and I pump while working so he can have breast milk bottles while I’m gone the next day. The last month or so, he has begun comfort nursing more and more frequently, particularly when he’s ready to nap or throughout the night. Comfort nursing doesn’t bother me, but it’s to the point that it’s all he’s doing. Before, 20-30 minutes of nursing would fill him up, but now 20-30 minutes of nursing does nothing for him and he still has to have a 4-5 ounce bottle after. I’m torn about whether I should continue breastfeeding and that this is just a stage that he will get through or if I need to start moving toward exclusively pumping. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
