Ferber Method Success?

Question

Hi All- starting the Ferber method of sleep training tonight for my son. He's 7 months old, he's a big boy so he doesn't need night feedings. 
Share some stories with me! I'm nervous lol

My son will be 7 months old on Monday, and we are on night 4 tonight of the Taking Cara Babies ABCs of Sleep and our previous nights have went like this:
Night 1: put down at 700 pm awake, cried for 10 mins then fell asleep, woke once at 12 pm, cried for an hour (with check ins) then back to sleep until 630 AM
Night 2: put down at 730, cried for 5 mins then fell asleep, woke at 2 AM, cried for 40 mins then back asleep til 630 AM
Night 3: put down at 730, cried for about 1 minute then asleep, never woke up again til 630 AM
Anxious to see how tonight will go but so far it’s gone extremely well.

Babies cannot “self sooth” and you should respond to their signaling for you. It only teaches them that nobody is coming for them so they stop signaling, but their cortisol levels remain high. Don’t fall for the sleep training BS. This is normal infant sleep behavior

I did Ferber method and after 2-3 nights, it stuck. Baby now sleeps 7-7 every night. He was 6.5 months old. I waited until I knew he was ready and I think that was the key to our success. I knew he was ready because he was waking every 2-3 hours to feed but only latching for a minute and then falling back to sleep. I knew he was only soothing and not actually hungry. If your little one isn’t actually hungry at night, then I think you should be good to start. 
My tips:
1. Put a show on to distract you during the crying.
2. Turn monitor volume on low, as the crying is so hard to listen too.
3. Do it on the weekend (or when your partner is off work). Expect a rough sleep the first few nights.

Also I was wondering does your baby go to sleep with a soother ? If it falls out throughout the night do you help them get it back or do you also use this method for that as well? 
I would really like him not to be dependent on one.

I started tonight too! My son just turned 7 months ! 
Hes never had to much of a problem falling asleep but he always wakes up at 4 am and is ready to be up for the day. So here's hoping this will help!

We did it with my first and it was a success it only took a few nights and he quickly figured it out. We haven't done it with this baby yet. Everytime we plan to do it he is teething and I just feel bad doing that while his teeth are bothering him.
