I would like to purchase either one but have read so many mixed reviews. 
Are they safe? 
Preference on which brand? 
Any help would be great. Thank you :)

No. Neither of them aren’t safe. Definitely not safe for sleeping. Don’t even come close to safe sleeping standards. Docatot is an overpriced glorified dog bed.

They are not safe for the baby to sleep in. If they are just lounging during the day under supervision it’s fine but they are not for sleeping.

Our guy seemed to like hanging out in this, but it’s definitely not safe for sleeping, and I wouldn’t buy one myself. We used it because it was a gift. The thing that worked best for us was the bassinet for our uppababy. It was portable and he was happy to lay in that for a moment if I needed to put him down. It’s safe for sleeping.

A lot of women on here are a bit extreme with safety standards (which is understandable, but still). The SnuggleMe and Boppy can be used safely with supervision. I got the SnuggleMe and it was VERY helpful. Sometimes you just want to sit on the couch without having to hold baby when you’re tired. Setting them in a lounger next to you for some relief is always nice. The doc a tot is more difficult to clean and comes in many pieces as far as material to clean. The SnuggleMe is more of a sunk in pillow whereas the doc a tot is like a flat bottom with bumpers.

We love our dock a tot. Unsupervised sleeping is not safe but neither is bed sharing etc. I think supervised sleep is just fine though. Our babe was always super snug and happy in hers. It's also made of breathable material. Anyways it was nice to have while sitting on the couch and having them close next to you without fear of rolling off. I would've made due without one though because of the price tag but my husband really wanted it and we did get a lot of use out of it. Having different lounge stations is a nice luxury to have if money isn't a problem.
