Measuring smaller?

Question

Yesterday I had an ultrasound at 25 weeks and 1 day. Baby measured 24 weeks and 4 days. Off by 4 days. Tech said this does not change my estimated due date. What does this mean though?

It means that your baby is doing fine 🙂 if baby is measuring more than 2 weeks behind, then its a problem.
 Otherwise, its absolutely ok, baby is on track. 
These measurements are not absolute, they are just a rough indicator. No baby will measure exactly correct.

Measurements are just estimates.  
There’s no reason for concern unless baby measures over 2 weeks behind consistently.  My daughter measured 2 weeks behind my entire pregnancy, 3 weeks behind at one point and she was born at 40w2d and was only 6lbs9oz but totally healthy.  She was just smaller than the average baby.  She is 2 now and average for height and weight.

It doesn’t really mean too much, as long as the baby is growing at the same pace every scan, so always 4 days behind. Or baby will go through a big growth spurt :)

4 days is insignificant. Ultrasound measurements are imperfect and less accurate the farther along in pregnancy you are. Don’t stress, if it was a couple weeks or more it would be something to ask  about, but not 4 days one way or the other.
