Treating cold for toddler?

My 16month old toddler seems to have come down with a slight cold. This is the very first time he has been sick that we know of. And were first time parents.

No fever. Just congested, very runny nose and a little fussy. Not really seeing much of a cough, if any.

How do you treat/help a toddler with a cold? Just let it run its course?

Of course if there is a fever or it gets worse we will contact a Doctor.

We use zarbees chest rub, infant Tylenol or motrin if needed, and saline drops and wipes. You can try a humidifier either but I don't notice much of a difference. Do your best to keep the comfortable. Baby will be fine in a week

It doesn’t sound like they are uncomfortable and they don’t have a fever so I wouldn’t give any medicine because it doesn’t sound necessary at the moment. I’d just make sure they stay hydrated and keep them home and let it run it’s course. You can let your pediatrician know and see if they have any advice.

Oh and saline mist and a bulb syringe can be super helpful

Definitely a nose sucker like a bulb or nose frieda. Maybe run a hot shower and sit with him in the bathroom to let the steam clear him up a bit. Keep his fluids up if you can and alternate between tylenol and motrin for fevers

Nose sucker and saline nose drops. We also use roll on cough and runny nose by I think essential oils. Lysol wipes and lysol spray so yall don't catch it.
