Christmas advice

Hi. I’m in the UK and we were allowed to see 2 households for 5 days over the Christmas period, so both sets of babies grandparents. Now today this rule has been changed and we are only allowed to see 2 households on Christmas Day (due to Covid cases rising).

So my question is

How would you spend Christmas Day? I really didn’t enjoy it last year when we had to visit both sides (my parents are 10 mins away, MIL house is 25 mins away).

I wanted my baby to have a nice morning at home opening her presents and then taking her morning nap and maybe seeing family for a bit in the afternoon (as part of the 5 days)

But now we are going to have to cram seeing them into one day, Christmas Day. MIL has made it clear she’s not travelling here. I found it so stressful last year taking baby to everyone’s house as well as naps, feeds, presents etc!

Shall we just spend Christmas Day seeing family and then pretend it’s Christmas Day for baby on the 24th or 26th? Even tho I know deep down that won’t feel as magical :(

Sorry I know this issue seems trivial but plans have just been abruptly changed for everyone in the UK
