What is the reason for not getting a period after taking Provera?

Hey ladies I was prescribed Provera twice and both times they did not work but I was getting bad side effects as soon as I was done taking the last pill. Idk why the doctor told me that there are no side effects but both times I was getting horrible abdominal pain, gas, headaches, and mood swings. If Provera did not work what else is there for me to get my period? Also I read a lot of people’s post about their OB prescribing Clovid at the same time of Provera but my OB did not. Was he suppose to prescribe it to me? I am trying to get pregnant ASAP
