Do you have a guest room in your house/apartment?

Question

We have 2 kids and a 4 bedroom house. So we have an extra room that is literally empty except for a closet of books and a small desk.
COVID we haven’t had anyone over, but I am wondering for once things go back to “normalish” if a guest room would be worth it? I’ve never had one growing up so idk if they’re worthwhile. My guess is it would be used once a month by friends or family who usually take the couch. 
If you have a guest room, is it worth it? Or would you rather turn the room into something else?

We have one kid and four bedrooms. One bedroom is my husbands office/man cave and the other is a guest room. We bought a new bed when we bought this house because my husband didn’t like the other mattress we had (which we had bought 6 months prior 🙄). So we set that up in our guest room and my mom has already used it to visit, and my sisters family is coming. She and BIL will take the guest room and kiddos can either sleep on the couch in the living room or air mattresses in hubby’s office until we can get a futon in there. It’s their choice, but They usually go back and forth throughout the trip when they see us. It’s nice to have the space for family and close friends. Time isn’t wasted going back and forth to a hotel not to mention gas and the expense of a hotel. And if family is visiting with kids it’s nice to have a place for everyone.

I have a guest room and it gets used about once a year for like 2 days by family staying in town. I’d say it’s more worth turning it into something else if you’d use the space

You could do a daybed with a trundle that way it’s kinda like a couch but small and won’t take up space so it can also be something else like office/movie room/crafts or whatever

We have a futon in our office. We had someone through every few weeks or so before covid. It’s absolutely worth it.

We have 2 but haven’t set them up. Well use one as an office tho and then we have the whole basement we can use as another guest room and playroom. I’m too lazy to set it up cause no one visits lol

2 kids and 4 bedroom house as well but I do have my brother who lives with me so he uses the spare bedroom. When he (eventually) moves out I will make it into an office/play room. It has a deep walk in closet perfect for all the toys. 
I just don’t see myself buying a new bed and new furniture for it to stand there and not get used. I do have family staying over about every other month but they stay in my sons room (aunt, parents, cousins)

We had three extra fully furnished bedrooms in our previous house that were barely used after my husband's parents and his sister's family moved out. They would all visit once a month or so for a few days but it was super annoying having to keep all the surfaces (especially the beds) clean when they weren't staying over.
In our new place I insisted that one of the beds be kept in basement storage so we now have only two extra bedrooms set up. Still annoying, but at least it's one less bed to maintain. 🙈

I have one but my family lives across the country so when they come to visit they have a room to themselves. I think it just depends on if you want a guest room for people who come to visit from time to time or a office, play room, craft room, etc.

My boyfriend and l have a one bedroom apartment, so no. 😂 We don’t have overnight guests very much but when we do, they’re our siblings who don’t mind sleeping on our blow up mattress in the living room. When we get a house, l would love to have a guest room though.

We have 4 bedrooms, my husband uses one as an office (but there’s also a bed, and for a time was also part play area for our now toddler, we have our bedroom, daughter in her room and the 4th room we have a bed, desk, tv & bookcase in. We don’t have people over much now, but pre-covid we did all the time, and for a time last year had someone renting the room out. It’s been essential for us to have. We now also have a computer in there, and my toddler likes to watch tv in there sometimes. The closet in there on the other hand, is currently a nightmare. But it’s useable. And when needed, I use that room as office space.
