Lost to drug addiction 😥
Hi Ladies, I am at a loss for words right now. A girl I used to babysit for, who was also a very close family friend, passed away from a heroin overdose last night. She was only 23 years old. I knew of her drug addiction, but last I heard earlier this summer, she was getting better. But her therapy was limited with Covid and she relapsed quickly.
I am so upset and I have been numb all day. She was the sweetest child ever. I can’t stop thinking about her. I haven’t reached out to her parents yet. My parents have spoken to them and said her parents are so beyond devastated and her mom cannot stop crying 😢.
Anyone who has lost a child to addiction, or has known anyone in a similar position, can you please offer some advice on what I can do and say? I would first like to send a message, but I am looking for advice on the best approach to this (preferably a prayer or faith-based message).
I moved across the country so I don’t live near them anymore, otherwise I would be physically there for them.
Thank you for your help ❤️
