I would love to start potty training my 20 month old after the new year, but I am seriously terrified. I do think he would do well, he is amazing at communicating, can pull down his underwear, etc, but I am so afraid of staying home for almost a week for it to not work. (I plan on doing this so I can make sure he has it down before we go places) I am reading the “Oh Crap! Potty Training” book, and we’ve already done things that the author says not to do. We’ve let him run around naked or in underwear, very casually seeing if he’ll go on the potty, but most of the time he was in diapers. I am so scared of it going badly and it taking longer when he’s older because we tried too soon. But he’s showing so many signs that he can handle this! I really think I’m just terrified of trying and failing. Do any of you have advice, tips, stories, anything for me? Anything you wish you knew at the very beginning?
