What’s wrong with my skin?

So for quite a while I had a patch of skin on my shoulder which was a different colour. It used to really bother me so I asked a nurse what it was and she said the start of vitiligo. I never thought that’s what it was and put it down to an eczema scar (I suffered with severe eczema as a child) I also have lighter spots coming down my arm too. Does anyone have any idea what this is and why it’s happening?

I know that there’s a lot of bad stuff happening in the world right now and this is minor but I’ve lost a lot of confidence through this and I amjust looking for some clarification so please don’t judge!
