I’m an ER nurse and received the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine last week. After a ton of research (including what ACOG and SMFM had to say) and a couple of convos with my OB, I decided I would be getting the vaccine. I work with covid patients literally every shift and have numerous coworkers who have gotten covid. My OB thought any theoretical risk of the vaccine wasn’t as bad as the risk of what could happen if I got covid. Risks of complications to pregnant women are much greater than they are to their non-pregnant peers. I may have decided differently if I didn’t have such high exposure, but I feel confident this was the right decision for my baby and me.

After discussion with my OB I will be getting it.
I’m a nurse that works with COVID patients. For me the theoretical risk of the vaccine is much smaller than the risk of COVID. While pregnant the risk of needing an ICU stay for a COVID infection is way higher than normal. There’s nothing to lead us to believe the vaccine is harmful in pregnancy, there’s just not enough data. 
For healthcare workers/those at high risk, it’s a personal risk/benefit discussion and choice. Either option is valid!

Since I work from home and stay home I am not taking it because it wasn’t tested on pregnant woman... but I completely understand woman who have to work with covid patients taking it. My heart goes out to you... you are hero’s!

This is from the CDC website regarding the pfizer vaccine that is coming out. Based off the unknowns, I will not be getting the vaccine right away. Possibly after I deliver and stop breastfeeding, but even then I’m not sure.

I’m also very low risk for exposure though. I’m a stay at home mom, and my husband only works with about 7 people in his office, so I think we’re a best case scenario... I’m sure I’d feel differently if I was working outside the home or had more exposure throughout the week.

I heard there werent trials or studies done on pregnant women with the vaccine yet. I think i heard that currently its not recommended. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m a nurse in Canada and here they are saying you can’t get it if you’re pregnant. So I won’t be getting it as per those guidelines. If I wasn’t pregnant I would 100% get it.

Until there’s more evidence no. Any women who even became pregnant during the trials were immediately kicked out from my knowledge. It’s not safe.
